It’s really easy to start an advertising campaign on Facebook, but is it really so promising as most of us consider? Well, our company decided to check this fact. So, we have started the campaign and spent surprisingly little time to do so. By the way, our advertisement was approved in a matter of two hours. It’s rather fast, isn’t it? During the first day of advertising we have even got some visitors from Facebook who used our service. Indeed, it was pleasant. Unfortunately, the further results occurred to be far from predicted. Now it is even difficult to determine what actually went wrong.
So, the first thing that was hard to understand was the amount of suggested bid that changed every second. Moreover, it might have ranged a lot and we had to watch our campaign all the time. It is not very convenient. However, it was a trifle. The greatest surprise appeared a bit later, when we compared the number of clicks shown in our Facebook ad report and the number of the site’s visitors who came from this social network. Google Analytics showed the figure that was at least twice less than that reported by Facebook. What is more confusing, we tried to contact the Facebook support team a couple of times to get at least some explanation but received no answer. Writing this article we were not aimed at claiming that advertising on Facebook is useless. We have definitely got some experience and benefits. Moreover, it was just the first our step in brand marketing and we made particular conclusions.
So, we defined that the main advantages of Facebook advertising are the icon that is attached to the ad and may be the logo of the company (this may really help in brand marketing) and low cost-per-click rate, at least if compared with Google AdWords. Still, even though Google advertising is more expensive, it is an undeniable fact that expenses are in most cases covered by the company’s income resulted by the activity of the customers who came to the site via the Google advertisement. Unfortunately, it is hardly common for Facebook ads. Besides, traffic is more targeted while advertising with Google rather than Facebook.
To avoid any confusion and misunderstanding, we admit that our points may be common and refer to businesses and companies offering services similar to ours. It is not a discovery that Facebook is first of all an entertainment portal and is mostly used by people for fun and communication. Although, this social network became really popular among businesses over the last years and almost any business has its page there, we shouldn’t forget that people visit Facebook to relax and maybe they are more likely to click on the ads offering some kind of postcards, gifts, clothes, watches, etc. rather than opt for some financial option.
To tell you the truth, it is difficult to state that the Facebook advertising campaign was successful, but still we achieved particular results. We have noticed that people started to search for “Britain Loans” or even “BritainLoans.co.uk” while looking where to get a short-term payday loan and this fact means that some consumers keep in mind the name of our company and turn to our service when it is needed. It is really pleasant to know that our brand becomes at least a bit more recognizable. It is a small achievement, but still a sufficient success.
